Hey there, Doogie Howser! In a way, TSTS has become something of a collective, or an umbrella under which other projects keep dry. The rough breakdown is below:

this sheep those sheep (bah bah bah) = ben, nate, thea, nick (orignal line-up); ben, malav, thea, nate (nyc line-up); ben + malav + rotating cast of accompaniment (current)
yer sweet chimneys = ben + gavin = perhaps the most experiemental project (drones of voice and organ and screwdriven guitar plus ethereal images from gavin).
you aren't my mother = ben + nicole = dream-pop duo, equal parts mogwai and magnetic fields ... malav lends drumming sometimes, and there will soon be lap steel, more guitars, and more keys, courtesy of andré and chris.
fin fast fun = ben + malav + gavin (visuals) = noisy rock that had the plug pulled at the rongo in ithaca.

This Sheep Those Sheep (bah bah bah) now has a CD for sale at www.cafepress.com/thosesheep. It's called ...and the clamor was benign, and it's an all instrumental affair, featuring members of our favorite band, idatel. much of the music was composed for a film, and it sounds like it. There's piano, guitar, accordion, violin, banjo, bass, drums, melodica, mandolin, organ, and glockenpiel.

Buy a t-shirt. Ben designed two for Brooklyn Industries, and a few he's selling on his own. They came out very pretty. Look at some band shirts here. Email merch@thissheepthosesheep.com to purchase one (or two or three or four ...).

The sheep as of now are: Ben, Thea, Nate, Malav. Quartet! Plus Gavin Kroeber on projections. Quintet!

:::question:::

"if you put a giant funnel in the sky, under some clouds, and it began to precipitate, it would collect all the water and pour it down on a little spot of land if you turned the funnel upside down, over some lake, and the sun beat down and made the water begin to evaporate, would the funnel produce petite, focused little clouds? or maybe one giant cloud? or none at all?"

:::answers:::
"most of the condensation would collect on the walls of the funnel and slide back down to the lake, but after a long time, it might turn the lake into a moat or a donut lake. what does escape from the top of the funnel might look like a steamstack. you can actually set up a similar contraption to collect condensation for drinking water if you are stuck in a forest."
-- nick james

"one big one."
-- wayne smith

"if the funnel were upside down over a lake, cloud production would be dependent upon the amount of air pressure going through the funnel ... if it were short sporadic bursts of air pressure, tiny petite clouds would be produced, but if it were a continuous flow, then one large cloud would form, but then perhaps would dissipate into tinier ones which would then scatter according to the direction of the wind."
